Long-time blues historian and a founding member of the North Carolina Jazz Ensemble, Chuck Beattie plays Chicago Blues with a passion, honesty and simplicity developed from the legacy of his gospel and rhythm and blues roots.
As the principle member of the Western North Carolina Blues Society, Chuck works tirelessly to promote all styles of traditional and contemporary blues throughout the wider regions of North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia and beyond.
Having worked extensively in the USA, Chuck, backed by selected UK musicians, Chuck recently brought the house down in June 2003 headlining the 3rd Bury Blues Festival near Manchester England.
During a long musical career, Chuck has shared the stage with the Kelly Brothers, Otis Clay, and Neenna Freelon and counts the mighty Taj Mahal and the legendary Bo Diddley amongst his friends and associates.
Chuck Beattie, a. k. a. Dr. Blues, currently lives near Asheville in Weaverville, North Carolina, USA.
